The Rockford Area Collaborative Effort ( R.A.C.E.) has applied for a grant for major athletic field and infrastructure improvements for the Rockford School District ISD #883.

The source of grant funding is from the Hennepin Youth Sports Capital Grant Program 2012. Outstanding support for this effort is evidenced by the collaboration and participation of the following entities; City of Rockford, City of Greenfield, City of Corcoran, Rockford School District, Rockford Area Athletic Association, Corcoran Athletic Association, Rockord Comminity Education, Rockford-Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Rockford Lions, Rockford Rocket Boosters, Corcoran Parks and Trails Commission, Greenfield Park Advisory, and numerous individuals and other contributors.

If successful, the grant and additional matching funds will provide for the development of a competitive tennis program, including four new tennis courts. Softball enhancements and field improvements at the high school facilities and a new varsity baseball field constructed upon park land within the City of Greenfield.

Thank you to all involved for the R.A.C.E. to the finish line and good luck to hearing of great news in December, 2011.
